A body found burned beyond recognition in a torched car off Gladwin Road Thursday afternoon, and a woman found slain in a west Abbotsford home Sunday night have been linked both romantically and criminally by police.

The body found in the burnt vehicle was identified through dental records as 24-year-old Bobby Leroy Digeorgio from Abbotsford and the young woman found murdered is 23-year-old Jessica Amber Illes.

Both were known to police for links to organized crime said Cpl. Dale Carr with the RCMP’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

Investigators have determined the two were dating each other and the last time either was seen it was with one another.

It was while conducting inquiries into the Digeorgio murder that police investigators attended a residence on McConachie Place and discovered the murdered body of Illes Sunday around 10:30 p.m.

Carr said both murders are considered targeted, both are linked to drugs and organized crime and investigators have compiled information to link the Illes homicide to the Digeorgio homicide.

Both victims had numerous charges pending at the time of their murders including possession of stolen property, assault with a weapon, assaulting a peace officer and breach of probation for Digeorgio, and possession of a loaded handgun without a licence, possession of a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and two breaches of court orders for Illes.
